SHILLONG, MAY 17: The lower court has sentenced one Ram Dhar to life imprisonment for his involvement in the brutal murder of Trebor Hinge at Nangbah village, West Jaintia Hills on February 11, 2015.
The case was registered with the Jowai police station and was diligently investigated and charged-sheeted by SI S. Pariat.
After the culmination of the trial, the Court of NA Khan, MHJS, Sessions Judge, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai finally found the prisoner Ram Dhar of Nongbah village guilty for an offence of culpable homicide amounting to murder and convicted U/s 302 IPC and was sentenced to Life Imprisonment, with a fine of Rs 5000.
In addition to the legal repercussions, the court has also recommended compensation of Rs 3 lakh to be awarded to the victim’s family.
