Imphal, Feb 24: An active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP)- Noyon faction was arrested from Imphal East district of Manipur on Sunday.
The individual has been identified as- Damu Kangjam alias Ningjaba (47).
According to police, he was involved in extortion activities targeting the general public, private enterprises and government officials.
In another operations, Manipur police arrested two cadres of thr proscribed Kangleipak communist party- city Meitei group for issuing death threats against state commands on social media.
The accused has been identified as- Olen Singh(36), and Saikhom Lemburs Singh alias Lemba(31).
The arrests were made following an investigation by the Cyber Crime Unit of the Manipur Police Department, prompted by a viral video in which a masked individual threatened Manipur State Forces, specifically targeting commando personnel.
