Imphal, Dec 26: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced on Thursday that the newly recruited constables in the state police would undergo specialized training to enhance their readiness and effectiveness in ensuring safety and security across the state.

During an inspection of the Manipur Police Training Centre at Pangei, Imphal, Singh highlighted the importance of equipping the police force with advanced training and resources. “We are committed to equipping our police personnel with the best facilities and training to meet any challenges effectively,” he said.

Earlier this week, 1,946 newly recruited police personnel completed a year-long training program at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, Assam. The batch includes individuals from the Meitei, Kuki-Zo, and Naga communities. Singh emphasized the government’s effort to maintain unity among the recruits and avoid divisions along ethnic lines.

The Chief Minister also expressed gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Assam government, Director General of Police G.P. Singh, and other senior officials for their support in providing quality training for Manipur’s police personnel.

The specialized training initiative is expected to strengthen the state’s police force, ensuring a safer and more secure Manipur.
