Imphal, June 30: Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh on Friday clarified that he will not be resigning from the post of Chief Minister.
“I will not be resigning from the post of Chief Minister,” tweeted Manipur CM N Biren Singh.
At this crucial juncture, I wish to clarify that I will not be resigning from the post of Chief Minister.

This comes hours after a picture of torn resignation letter had gone viral on social media.

This comes after several protesters started protesting to stop CM N Biren Singh from resigning.
A Manipuri woman supporter, highlighting their issues said that CM is working not only for Manipur but for the whole nation.
Several Opposition leaders demanded the resignation of CM N Biren Singh as the state is facing violence for the last two months, starting from May 3.
At least 130 people have lost their lives and thousands are taking shelter in relief camps.
He was asked to step down as he failed to control the situation in the state as a CM.
Also, this high voltage drama comes at a time when Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is in Imphal for his two-days visit.
On Thursday he had arrived in Imphal, and was stopped by the state police.
However, he later took a helicopter and visited relief camps in areas which has been affected the most by the ongoing violence.
On Friday, he visited relief camps and interacted with thousands of people.
He also met the Governor of the state at her office.

While interacting with media, Rahul Gandhi said that he wants peace to be restored in Manipur.
