His statement comes a day after Manipur witnessed a surge in violence, resulting in the death of four individuals and injuries to several others. The tumultuous incident unfolded in Thoubal district, where an unidentified group of men, reportedly armed with automatic weapons, allegedly engaged in extortion. In response, locals, fueled by anger, set fire to the assailants’ vehicles. The escalation of tensions prompted the reimposition of curfew in the state’s five valley districts.
