Imphal, August 01: Manipur cabinet minister Nemcha Kipgen reached out to internally displaced persons on Monday at a relief camp in Kangpokpi district with a bulk of clothing.
The Minister reached out to hundreds of Internally Displaced Persons in a relief camp in Kangpokpi district today with a bulk of proper clothing.
The senior BJP’s lone woman Minister in the N. Biren Singh-led Manipur Government, Nemcha Kipgen, is also a victim of the ongoing ethnic cleansing in the state after her official quarters at Lamphel in the heart of the capital city Imphal in the middle of the violence in the state.
The  Minister has committed to letting nobody among her Kuki-Zo people go hungry during the wide-scale ethnic cleansing perpetuated by the dominant majority community since May 3.
She also assured adequate and proper clothing and other basic necessities for her people sheltering in relief camps across Kangpokpi district.
“I will not let any of you go hungry and let you sleep hungry, while I will provide you with adequate and proper clothing”, said the Minister while encouraging the displaced persons at the relief camps to stay strong and united.
Nemcha Kipgen said that she will continue to reach out to all the Internally Displaced Persons in all the relief camps in Kangpokpi district.
When the Minister was apprised of the need to sanitise the surroundings of the relief camp, she immediately contacted the district administration to instruct the authority concerned to sanitise all the relief camps immediately.
Nemcha Kipgen, who had been listed among the top five Indian MLAs to have set unique examples of effective service in the fight against COVID-19 as per the Post India nationwide research, was the pride and honour of the people of Kangpokpi during the COVID-19 pandemic for her commitment to let nobody go hungry during the pandemic.
