Imphal, Oct 1: Security forces recovered arms and ammunition in Manipur’s Jiribam district during a massive operations against militants.
According to reports, the operation was held in the Mongbung and Kashimpur Balijuri villages of Jiribam districts.
“We have recovered two submachine carbines, two magazines, 199 empty casings, and one improvised explosive device identified as a Pompi bomb,” said an police official.
Security forces have heightened vigilance at vulnerable locations, providing convoys along sensitive sections of the highways.
A total of 703 vehicles were escorted under tight security along these routes to ensure their safety.
As many as 113 checkpoints have been set up across various districts to monitor movement and enhance security.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched a massive operation against militants in the state.
