Imphal, Aug 20: In yet another horrifying incident, a tribal man was gunned down by armed miscreants in Churachandpur district of Manipur on Sunday (August 20).
According to reports, the incident took place at the Khuga Tampak area under Churachandpur police station in Manipur.
The body has been identified as that of Lalkhanthang (53). He suffered multiple bullet wounds, and the body was recovered at around 7 a.m. near Khuga Tampak Tuithanpi in Churachandpur district headquarters in Manipur.
He was a resident of Dorcas Road in the New Lamka area of Churachandpur district of Manipur.
Manipur police said that the dead tribal man was shot at by unknown armed miscreants.
Police also recovered the two-wheeler that the man was riding from the place where he was shot.
Meanwhile, the state police have launched an investigation into the killing, and a case has also been registered.
Also, the body of Lalkhanthang has been taken for post-mortem in Manipur’s Churachandpur district hospital.
