Tura, April 28: In a  massive search operation, the Police has arrested the mastermind behind the formation of GNLA-R, Simon G Momin along with Rakban Ch. Momin from Gambil Apal village in North Garo Hills on April 25.

The police have recovered one Gamexy mobile phone, one Vivo YO1 mobile phone and one Heemax mobile phone and two sim card from the criminals.

The mastermind behind the formation of GNLA-R, Simon G Momin, was a member of the organization A’chik National Liberation Army, and  was also associated with A’chik Matgrik
Elite Force. He was arrested earlier in Arms Act cases in West Khasi Hills and
East Garo Hills for cases related to  extortion and abduction.

The police has stated that further investigation into the case is underway and has urged the  people of Meghalaya to report any  information related to extortion or any illegal activities to facilitate and act accordingly in the case. The identity of the informants will be kept confidential.
