Shillong, Sep 11: Mawphlang MLA Syntar Klas Sunn was cremated on Saturday at Marbisu Mawsmai.

The Mawphlang MLA was well loved by the whole constituency, seeing hundreds flooding his funeral service while maintaining social distancing at his residence in Mawngap.Being a football enthusiast, the football community in Shillong felt the void left by the Sunn. SK Sunn holds the President’s post of the Shillong Sports Association (SSA).Before joining Politics, Sunn was the Chief Executive Engineer of the department of PHE. On people’s demand he contested in the 2018 Assembly elections as an independent candidate and won by a huge margin against the Kenendy Khyriem of Congress. He later associated with United Democratic Party (UDP).

SK Sunn succumbed to Covid-19 infection after having complained of mild headache.
