Shillong, June 20: NPP MDC from Sohryngkham constituency, Pyniaid Sing Syiem has been elected uncontested as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) on Tuesday.
The election for the new CEM was held on Tuesday, where Chairman Lamphrang Blah declared Syiem as the new CEM of the council as there were no other contenders for the post.
Also, Pyniaid Sing Syiem, the newly elected CEM was felicitated by other MDCs.
This development comes a day after United Democratic Leader (UDP) leader Titosstarwell Chyne lost the floor test on the first day of the monsoon session of the council on Monday and his Executive Committee collapsed after losing the no-confidence motion moved by NPP MDC Bajop Pyngrope.
