Shillong, May 5: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Monday announced the results of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examination 2025 for the Arts stream, revealing an impressive performance by students from St. Edmund’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.
Albert Mate and Idawanplishisha Swer, both from St. Edmund’s, shared the top position, securing 455 marks each. Their outstanding academic feat has brought pride not just to their school but to the entire state.
Close on their heels was Nelly Mary Khymdeit of St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh, who secured the third rank with 451 marks.
The fourth position was bagged by Safilia Wahlang of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, scoring 450 marks. Neev Sharma from Don Bosco College (Hr. Sec. Section), Tura, came in fifth with 448 marks.

Other notable performers from St. Edmund’s included Nangrim Mangsang Sangma (6th position, 446 marks), Gideon Elias Quinn Khyrim (7th, 444 marks), Amanda Lyngwa (9th, 440 marks), and Alvareen Mebaaihun Lyngdoh (8th, 441 marks), further cementing the school’s dominance in this year’s Arts stream merit list.
Priscilla Lamlynti Lyngdoh from St. Anthony’s claimed the seventh rank with 443 marks, while Lapdianghun Shisha Khonglam from Sohra Govt. Higher Secondary School stood ninth with 440 marks.
The tenth position was jointly held by Josephine Bareh of St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School (438 marks) and regular-II candidate Mebalaaihun Mawiong (441 marks).
