Tura, Sept 6: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), in collaboration with the Tura District Cricket Association, began an U-19 Women’s Cricket Camp at the Alotgre Stadium in Tura.
The camp, which began on September 5 and will continue till September 27, aims to identify and train young talent from across the state for upcoming national-level tournaments.
A total of 30 young cricketers from various districts of Meghalaya have gathered in Tura to participate in the camp. During the first three days, a selection trial will be conducted, where players will undergo practice sessions.
Based on their performance during these sessions, the selectors will select a 15-member squad, and 5 other players will be kept for standby. The 15-member squad along with the standby players will continue training at the Alotgre Stadium.
This squad will represent Meghalaya in U-19 tournaments across the country.
Of the 30 players, three are from Tura and 12 others are from different parts of Garo Hills.
