Must read

Shillong, Aug 8: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), through its ad hoc selection committee, has shortlisted 25 U-19 men for the BCCI’s 2024-25 domestic season.

The selection was made on the basis of BCCI 2023-24 domestic season performances and MCA selection matches held recently in Jagiroad, Assam.

The U-19 men’s team will be involved in two prestigious tournaments – the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (one day) and Cooch Behar Trophy (multi-day). In 2023-24, the Cooch Behar Trophy was one of the first highlights of a very successful season for the state; Meghalaya had qualified for the final of the Plate Group, finishing the season as runners-up.

The MCA will conduct selection-cum-preparatory camps before the U-19 tournaments one month prior to the start date and, in the meantime, the players have been advised to stay fit in practice and training and to update the MCA on their progress.
