Shillong, Jan 29: In a tragic incident, an MeCL security guard faced fatal electrocution on Monday.
The guard has been identified as Rishanlang Muktieh, a 25-year-old from Lalsharai. in Ri-Bhoi.
According to SP (City) Vivek Syiem, Muktieh was electrocuted from a nearby transformer while collecting firewood and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong by his colleague, but succumbed during the day.
The incident is said to have taken place at 5.30 a.m.
