Guwahati, Jan 29: Demand to implement the Inner line permit & protest against the very controversial Citizenship amendment act has heated up again in Guwahati. Hundreds of protestors representing the Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad staged a massive sit-in protest in the state capital of Assam on Monday.

The AJYCP Protestors ranging in hundreds demanded repeal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and immediate implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Assam. They were equally supported by the activists from various other local organisations in the Chachal area of Guwahati City.

The protest zone of Chachal went volatile when the hundreds of AJYCP & other organisation members started showing placards, banners and started raising slogans against the Himanta Biswa Sarma government and the Centre by also demanding the scrapping of CAA.

Though suppressed by Paramilitary forces, The organisation promised to intensify their movement against the contentious Act in the coming days.

Talking to Hub News, a leader from the AJYCP said that their main demands have been expressed very strongly and this movement will continue until the central government does not withdraw the citizenship amendment act, and starts implementing the ILP in Assam.
