9 killed after bus catches fire

Guwahati: Nine persons, including five women and a 12-year-old girl, were burnt alive and 17 injured when a moving tourist bus caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway near Dhulawat village in Nuh district of Haryana in the wee hours on Saturday.

Former sarpanch killed

Guwahati: A former sarpanch was killed and a tourist couple injured in terrorist attacks in Shopian and Anantang respectively on Saturday night, ahead of polling for the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled for May 20.

Emergency landing

Guwahati: An Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Kochi made an emergency landing at Bengaluru after a fire was noticed in one of the engines, the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) said on Sunday.
