Must read

Shillong, August 3: The Border Security Force (BSF) of Meghalaya foiled an attempt of cattle smuggling by seizing two cattle that were brutally crammed into two Alto cars. The cattle were meant for smuggling to Bangladesh through the bordering area of East Jaintia Hills.

The BSF personnel acted swiftly upon receiving intelligence about the smuggling operation and intercepted the two Alto cars. Upon inspection, they discovered the cattle crammed inside the vehicles, suffering from extreme distress and discomfort. The BSF’s timely intervention prevented the illegal transportation of these animals and ensured their safety and well-being.

Earlier on July 29, the Vigilant troops of 110 Bn BSF Meghalaya confiscated 58 Buffaloes brutally crammed into two trucks from Ichamati- Shella road, East Khasi Hills, while these buffaloes were being taken to the International border for smuggling to Bangladesh. The seized cattle and vehicles were handed over to the concerned Police station for further legal action.
