Meghalaya: Burnt body of a newborn found near cremation ground in Malki

Shillong, June 18: In a shocking incident, the burnt remains of a newborn was found by some boys near a cremation ground in Shillong’s Malki around 4 pm on Saturday.

Vigilance secretary of Dorbar Shnong Malki and secretary of Seng Samla Malki, Junestar Kharbuli said, that some boys from Lumparing who had gone for a swim nearby found the burnt body. After which they informed the Lumparing womens’ body (Seng Kynthei) but it was later found that it falls under Malki’s jurisdiction.

Junestar said that although the body was burnt, but the umbilical cord can still be seen. Such an act is atrocious,” he added.

Also, police was informed by the Dorbar Shnong.
