Meghalaya cabinet releases report card to Mark 3 years in office – ‘MeghalayaOnTheMove’

Shillong, March 8: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday said most of the ongoing projects will be completed by next financial year and if not fully 90 percent of those will surely be completed.

Releasing the #MeghalayaOnTheMove booklet to mark the MDA Government’s 3rd year in office, Chief Minister highlighted on various initiatives of the Government in the last three years.

Addressing media after a cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said, “Some of the key aspects that we have started and this particular year is going to be very very crucial because all the projects that we have shown out here are already up and running.”

The State Government on Monday has released a booklet counting its achievement. Stating that this year will be important to scale up the entire work process that has taken place in all the areas, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “… whether it is social sector scheme, whether it is farmers scheme, whether it is entrepreneurship youth schemes, whether it is the infrastructural programme, whether there is big iconic projects all the works have started and this year will be important to scale up the entire work process that has taken place in all the areas, momentum has to be now built up and the entire inertia has to be created on that.”

“ Therefore this is going to be a very exciting year for us and I said we will see most of the iconic structure that you see out here is complete in the next financial year and if not complete you will see 90 percent of it coming up,” Sangma added.

The CM also informed the media that a lot of projects like that beautification of Jowai, Shillong, and Tura is not mentioned here because that is something it’s going to start now.

“For example the work order the Tura beautification been done, next month, we will be giving the jowai beautification work order out, in Shillong we have three-four very big iconic projects that we have in mind,” the CM said.
