Meghalaya celebrates experiential learning program with 6,000 students, encourages Prerana Utsav

Shillong, April 9: In a significant stride towards educational innovation. Over 6,000 students across Meghalaya participated in a unique initiative this week. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, launched “Prerana: The Experiential Learning Program” for students of classes IX to XII.

The week-long residential program will be hosted at Vernacular School, Vadnagar, Gujarat, and will accommodate only 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) selected from across different states, Meghalaya took a big step by celebrating “Prerana Utsav” in all schools across the state on Monday.

The state program allowed over 6,000 students in Meghalaya to participate in the spirit of experiential learning. The Prerana Utsav program held at Shillong Public School was graced by the presence of the Director of Education and Literacy and State Project Director Samagra Shiksha.

This large-scale participation within Meghalaya highlights the state’s commitment towards innovative educational approaches and its focus on providing enriching learning experiences for its students.
