Shillong, June 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday conducted a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Departments to look into the damages that has been caused by the after-effects of incessant rains including the loss of precious lives in the state.
He said that he has checked on the measures that has taken by the Districts & to ensure arrangements are made in the eventuality of further heavy rains in the days to come.
The review meeting was conducted with the concern departments like Revenue, Disaster Management and Food and Supplies and with all the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts of the state.
CM also informed that the meeting was also conducted to discussed the necessary arrangements for the coming days given that there is a prediction of heavy rainfall in the state.
CM Conrad said that the meeting was very positive and to make sure that all the departments and officials are ready to face heavy rainfall, wind and cyclones in the coming days.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma wrote, “Conducted a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Departments to look into the damages caused by the after-effects of incessant rains including the loss of precious lives in the state. Due to heavy rainfall in the past few days in the state, at least three people lost their lives and several others have been troubled by it.
Several places have also witnessed water-logging, landslides, flood like situations and mudslides.
