Tura, Oct 3: In an event held at the Conference Hall of the Meghalaya State Board of Education (MBoSE), Tura, municipal workers from Garo Hills and Shillong were felicitated for their outstanding contributions to the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign.
The ceremony, which marked the closing of the campaign in the State, was graced by several dignitaries, including Speaker Thomas A. Sangma as the Chief Guest. West Garo Hills DC Jagdish Chellani, CEO of Tura Municipal Board (TMB) Rikse R. Marak, and other notable figures were also present at the event.
The event featured an Exhibition-cum-Sales event with entrepreneurs from Prime Meghalaya, Self-Help Groups (NULM Team, Tura Municipal Board), and Waste to Art models by Tura schools. The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, also attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The day’s highlight was the vibrant fashion show and an exhibition organized by PRIME entrepreneurs and various schools. Students showcased innovative models made from recycled waste, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and creativity. The exhibition was inaugurated by Subir Marak, MLA of Rangsakona. The inclusion of a fashion show added a touch of glamour and engagement to the proceedings.
