Shillong, Oct 26: Meghalaya Government on Wednesday felicitated three world arm-wrestlers as they arrived home from Turkey.
The three arm-wrestlers from Meghalaya represented the team of India in the event of ‘43rd World Arm Wrestling Championship 2022’ which were held in Antalya, Turkey.
They were felicitated and welcome by the people in Ri Bhoi including Margret Pathaw from Umsning who won the gold medal in the 69 kg women category, Mylliem Umlong Khunsyiem Angel Mary won the bronze in the same category while Alexander Lyngdoh from Jaintia Hills wins bronze medal in 80 kg men category.
The program was attended by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Minister of Sports Banteidor Lyngdoh and other government dignitaries.
