Tura, Jan 12: In the second match of the U-18 girls’ football division during the Meghalaya Games 2024 on Friday, the face-off was between West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
The initial half saw both teams battling to score, with neither teams managing to break the deadlock, resulting in a score of 0-0. The match took an exciting turnaround in the second half after South West Khasi Hills girls’ team started scoring goals and landed a total of 4 goals against their opponents.
With a final score of 4-0 in favor of South West Khasi Hills (SWKH), they clinched victory and managed to move to the next round of the competition.
The 5th edition of Meghalaya Games will officially be inaugurated in Tura on January 15, which will witness President of India Droupadi Murmu present on the occasion. This marks a historic first, as Tura becomes the host city for the much-anticipated sporting event.
