GBHSS Artificial Football Ground, Tura, witnessed the commencement of the screening process for the 5th Meghalaya Games 2024 football teams.

Teams from Ri Bhoi, East Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, East Jantia Hills, West Jantia Hills, South Garo Hills, and West Garo Hills have completed the screening.
Several other teams are in line for screening to ensure adherence to eligibility criteria before the Meghalaya Games kick off.
Scheduled for the next session, the screening for U-18 girls’ football teams is set to take place tomorrow.
Emphasis on verifying necessary documents, such as Aadhar cards for age confirmation and birth certificates for cross-verification.
Participants must confirm their residency in the respective district, and those representing other districts need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their permanent resident district sports/football association.
Stricter verification processes include players providing proof of date of birth (Aadhar card) to maintain transparency.
Comprehensive District Coverage: The screening aims to cover teams from various districts, fostering inclusivity and representation.
The screening process is a crucial step in ensuring a fair and competitive Meghalaya Games 2024, scheduled to commence soon.
