SHILLONG, MAY 23: The state government has finalised the appointment of the new chairpersons of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) and Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) as well as the mission director of the Drug Reduction Elimination and Action Mission (DREAM) project.
“The only thing that is holding us back from notifying them is that we are waiting for the model code of conduct (MCC) to be lifted,” Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh informed reporters on Thursday.
Asked if their names can be shared, Lyngdoh said that it will not be fair unless the government notifies them.
“We have already gone through the process of shortlisting and have also identified the new incumbent but we will notify after June 4,” he added .
