Shillong, May 10: With objectives of bringing back a clean, beautiful and safer Shillong, the Meghalaya & Greater Shillong Progressive Hawkers and Street Vendors Association organized a cleaning drive in various locations within the city.
The cleaning drive was taken part by the association of hawkers and street vendors with an objective to make shillong a clean and beautiful city.
According to the association’s general secretary, Shane Thabah, the vendors and hawkers will be putting in effort to achieve a clean and safer city.
Thabah added that it was part of the larger efforts made by the association to make Shillong an inclusive city, besides making it safe and liveable. The association is also concerned by the threat of single use plastic bags to the environment.
