Shillong, Oct 23: The Meghalaya High Court on Friday sought details on the alleged exorbitant rates charged by private hospitals for treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Amicus Curiae TT Diengdoh drew the attention of the Court to the issue during the hearing of a PIL.
Issuing an order in this regard, the Division Bench comprising of Chief Justice Ranjit More and Justice W Diengdoh said, “He (Amicus Curiae) is requested to file affidavit bringing on record the details about the exorbitant charges by the private hospitals for the Covid-19 patients with advance copy thereof to learned AG and learned counsels for other respondents.”
The next hearing of the PIL is on November 22.
