Shillong, Dec 20: A two-day national symposium on digital forensics and cybercrime was successfully concluded in Shillong on Wednesday.
The two-day National Symposium was organised with the theme “Strengthening Cyber Forensics: Navigation in the Digital Frontier.”
The public symposium was graced by the participation of government officials, speakers, invitees, and students.
Justice Hamarsan S. Thangkhiew, Chief Justice (Acting), C. V. D. Diengdoh, Secretary of the Govt. of Meghalaya, Davis N. R. Marak, DIG Eastern Range, Meghalaya Police, Newverlyne Nongkynrih, Director, Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Govt. of Meghalaya, and Prof. (Dr.) Indrajit Dube, Vice-Chancellor, NLU MEG, inaugurated the National Symposium on Tuesday.
The inaugural plenary speakers were Dr. M. G. Raghavendra, Senior Superintendent of Police, CID, Govt. of Meghalaya, Newverlyne Nongkynrih, and Prof. Indrajit Dube, while Dr. K. C. Baruah, First Director, Forensic Science Laboratory, Meghalaya Police, and Dr. Krishna Sastry Pendyala, Partner Cyber Security Consulting, Ernst &Young India, were the keynote speakers.
A few other notable plenary speakers were Shabbir Dkhar, MPS (former Deputy Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Wing CID), M. Maheshwari, Scientist ‘B’-Cyber Forensic Expert, Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Kolkata, Directorate of Forensic Sciences Services, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Shreyas Muthye, Cyber Forensic Consultant, Cyber Crime Wing, CID, Meghalaya Police, Samuel Lalsangzuala, Forensic Consultant, Home Department, Government of Mizoram, Dija S., Scientist ‘F’-Associate Director at Centre for Development and Advance Computing at Thiruvananthapuram (CDAC), Research Scientist, Cyber Forensics Expert and Innovator, 2 Decades of R&D Experience, Developed 10+ indigenous Cyber Forensics Tools, GCFA (GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst), S.
