Shillong, Dec 24: Three State Arm-wrestlers bagged Silver and Bronze medals at the North East India Arm Wrestling Championship 2021 Organized by the Namrup Arm-wrestling club at BVFCL Indoor Stadium, Namrup, Dibrugarh, Assam.
The championship was held in various categories among male and female players. In the above 75kg masters, Baniaikyrsoi Khongwir won the Silver Medal, while Bakham Maian Khongwir won bronze in the below 85kg category and Banbat Juban Khongwir bagged bronze in the 75kg category.
All three medalists are from the same family hailing from Nongkseh, Upper Shillong and are the members of the Meghalaya Arm Warriors Club. Most of their training sessions were done at their own house.
A total of 10 players represented Meghalaya at this championship.
