Shillong, Oct 15: A crucial meeting between legislators representing the Meitei, Kuki, and Nagas communities from Manipur would be convened in the National Capital on October 15.
The meeting facilitated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) would attempt to unite the people in Manipur through their representatives.
Three Naga MLAs are expected to take part in the meeting, however, the exact number of Meitei and Kuki legislators scheduled to attend the meeting is yet to be confirmed, officials informed.
The conflict between different communities in Manipur has caused unrest in the state for the past one year. Several people have lost their lives and property due to the ongoing conflict, which still simmers on.
The centre is hoping that getting all the MLAs from the different communities would help to bring an end to the communal unrest and bring peace to the state once more through discussions and reconciliations.
