Jowai, April 30: Two vehicles parked at the Police Reserve in Salini Colony, Jowai were deliberately set on fire by unidentified individuals early Tuesday morning around 2:00 or 2:30 AM.
Sources indicate that one of the vehicles, a Maruti Gypsy, belonged to a police personnel, while the other was a police bus. The private vehicle was completely destroyed, whereas the police bus with registration number ML-02-1873 sustained front-end damage.
Although the police department has not issued an official statement, the incident is believed to be a result of a petrol bomb attack.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter and have registered a case to apprehend those responsible.
