Mizoram: 3 crore drugs seized, 4 Myanmarese among 6 drug peddlers held

Aizawl, Feb 24: In a two seperate operation, the Assam Rifles and other law enforcing agencies have seized drugs and Indian currencies valued over Rs 3 crore and arrested six drug peddlers including four Myanmar nationals in Mizoram.

The seized items include Heroin, foreign origin beer and Indian currencies of around Rs 1.4 crore later handed over to the Mizoram police for further legal action.

In a two seperate operation, the Assam Rifles and other law enforcing agencies have seized drugs and Indian currencies valued over Rs 3 crore and arrested six drug peddlers including four Myanmar nationals in Mizoram.

A joint raids conducted by the Assam Rifles and various other law enforcing agencies including Customs and recovered the drugs and Indian currencies from two places of Siaha and Champhai districts and arrested six persons including four Myanmarese and two residents of Mizoram.

On Wednesday night, the Assam Rifles along with the Mizoram Police, recovered 11.39 kg highly addictive methamphetamine tablets and 218 gm heroin valued at around Rs 35.19 crore and arrested three drug peddlers including two women in Mizoram’s Champhai district in this connection.
