M’laya teachers issue ultimatum for upgradation of all adhoc schools to deficit system

Shillong, Oct 11: Federation of All School Teachers of Meghalaya (FASTOM) has served an ultimatum to the State government to fulfil its demand for upgradation of all adhoc schools to deficit system by April 30, 2024.

The resolution was adopted at the general meeting of the FASTOM held at Nongstoin on October 7.

“The meeting had taken a resolution giving an ultimatum to the State government to fulfil the federation’s demand for upgradation of all adhoc schools to deficit system up to April 30, 2024,” FASTOM publicity secretary EG War said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

“But if the government does not pay heed to the demand, the federation would again come to the street with different types of agitation programmes,” he added.

During the meeting, the members of the central executive for the term 2023-2026 were also confirmed by FASTOM general secretary Elvis R Marak.

The office bearers who were confirmed included: President Diningroy Marwein, Vice President Sanborn Jungai and Kinstar Momin, General Secretary Sainbor John Lyngdoh,Joint Secretaries Deviana Syiem,Smt. Evangeline Niangti and Senendro R.Marak, Finance Secretary R. Sparland Khardewsaw, Organising Secretaries Rapborson Kharsynteng and Biarson Marak, Publicity Secretary E.G. War, Auditors Evansius Marwein and David Lyngkhoi.
