MPS officer clinches Silver in State Kettlebell Championship

Shillong, Nov 28: The 3rd Girevoy Sports Indian Federation (GSIF) State Kettlebell Championship 2023 was successfully held at Pinewood Gym on November 27. Fourteen athletes participated, securing a total of 8 Gold and 7 Silver medals.

D.K Prasad, a fitness enthusiast and MPS Assistant Commandant attached to Training at SF10, emerged as an inspiration at the Gold Gym. At 57, he defies age norms, securing a Silver medal in the competition, showcasing that staying fit knows no age bounds.

Organized by Parag Mhetre, GSIF Secretary, and Sandeep Sharma, a World Champion Bronze medalist in Kettlebell Sports, the competition is part of GSIF’s nationwide initiative across states like Meghalaya, Assam, and Maharashtra.

Sandeep Sharma, a recent bronze medalist in the international kettlebell competition in Hungary, actively promotes the sport’s rapid growth in the state. As a trainer at Gold’s Gym and Pinewood Gym, he trains in Kettlebell and Animal Flow ( the only certified trainer in Northeast India).
