Shillong, Dec 14: A total of 868 cases were taken up during National Lok Adalat organized by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) in all districts of the state on Saturday.
Of this, 159 cases were settled for a total amount of Rs 1.43 crore.
517 were pre-litigation cases and 351 pending cases.
The National Lok Adalat was held under the patronage and guidance of the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court, IP Mukerji, who is also the Patron-in-Chief, MSLSA, and Justice HS Thangkhiew, who is the Executive Chairman of MSLSA.
