Tura, July 26: An awareness cum Active Case Finding (ACF) program was organized on the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme on Friday at District DIET Practicing School, Rongkhon, Tura.
Students from Class VI to X participated in the programme. A mass sputum collection was also conducted for testing.
Dr. Riksilchi M. Sangma, DTO in-charge West Garo Hills, highlighted on how Tuberculosis spreads, its prevention, symptoms, course of treatment etc.
She also added not to stigmatize TB patients and sought cooperation of the staff and students present in the programme in eliminating TB from the District by 2025.
