Williamnagar, March 18: In recognition of their academic excellence, Local MLA and PHE Minister, Marcuise N. Marak, felicitated 11 NEHU toppers from Loyola College, Williamnagar, at a ceremony held on the college campus on Tuesday. Each student was presented with a laptop as a token of appreciation for their outstanding academic achievements.
The meritorious students included Jenash M. Sangma (Rank 1 in Garo), Bivetejang R. Marak (Rank 2 in Garo), Tengsuraksal N. Sangma (Rank 3 in Garo), Harima G. Momin (Rank 4 in Garo), Tengku N. Marak and Namrang Ch. Sangma (Rank 5 in Garo), Chijanggikadime G. Momin (Rank 6 in Garo), Lusica Dalbot Shira (Rank 6 in English), Achirim R. Sangma (Rank 7 in Garo), Allina D. Sangma (Rank 9 in Garo), and Brian Minggam R. Marak (Rank 10 in Garo).
The event was attended by Retired MCS Officer Seldin N. Sangma, Loyola College Principal Fr. Stephen Athikho, Rector Fr. Melvil Parera, and Materdei Parish Priest Fr. Lawrence, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Marcuise N. Marak congratulated the students and acknowledged their hard work, discipline, and perseverance. “Today is a day of celebration, recognition, and inspiration. Your achievements are a testament to your dedication and the high academic standards upheld by Loyola College. Success is not just a destination but a continuous journey, and your commitment to excellence will shape not only your future but also that of our society,” he stated.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to education, he emphasized the importance of utilizing technology for learning and growth. “These laptops are not just tools for education but gateways to endless possibilities. They symbolize our faith in your potential and our commitment to supporting your journey toward a brighter future,” he added.

The minister reiterated state government’s ongoing efforts to support students, stating that under the leadership of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, the government has expanded educational initiatives to empower the youth. “Whether you aspire to be an athlete, entrepreneur, scholar, artist, or leader, we are committed to providing you with the right resources and opportunities to succeed. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, and we stand with you in your pursuit of excellence,” he affirmed.
Fr. Stephen Athikho, Principal of Loyola College, expressed gratitude to the Minister for the support that he has rendered since the inception of this college. At the same time, he thanked Marak for recognising and felicitating the rank holders of their college which will inspire other students.
