Tura, May 13: The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Tura Campus began its much-anticipated Varsity Week 2025 on May 8, marking the start of a ten-day celebration of unity, talent, and student spirit under the theme “Olympus: Where Legends Rise.” The event, which runs until May 17, is being organized by the Post Graduate Students’ Union (PGSU) and aims to promote leadership, creativity and collaboration through a wide range of activities.

Inspired by the strength and symbolism of Greek mythology, six student teams named after mythological gods—Aphrodite (White), Athena (Green), Zeus (Yellow), Apollo (Black), Poseidon (Blue), and Artemis (Red)—are competing in various cultural, sports and literary events.

Speaking on behalf of the student body, PGSU General Secretary Vendo Theodore C.S. Sangma said, “NEHU Tura is not just keeping the spirit alive..it’s raising the bar. Varsity Week is a celebration of who we are and who we are becoming as one university family.”

The PGSU expressed gratitude to Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Familine K. Marak, Assistant Dean of Students’ Welfare Dr. Crystal Cornelious D. Marak, former Campus Director Prof. Sujata Gurudev, and all faculty and staff for their continued support. Their cooperation has strengthened the campus community and made this year’s celebration possible.
