Tura, Sept 5: The District TB Hospital Tura on Thursday organized one-day Awareness programme on Tuberculosis at NEHU’s Tura Campus for the Social Works Department.
The resource persons at the programme, Dr. R.M. Sangma, DTO in-charge, spoke about what TB is all about. She talked about its causes, transmission, symptoms, prevention among other critical information.
She also gave a demonstration on cough etiquette so that TB would not spread from one person to another.
Earlier, Tilok Thakuria, the Head of the Social Works Department, instructed the students to be cautious and urged the hospital authorities and experts to conduct more programmes at their campus in future.
A total of 40 people took part in the programme, of which 30 also came forward to give their sputum samples for examination.
