NEP conclave: Want Assam to become education centre for entire Bharat, says CM

Guwahati, June 15: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday attended conclave on implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in Assam at AASC, Khanapara.

While speaking at the event, CM Sarma requested the people from academics to use simple terms to explain the framework of NEP so that our students don’t get overwhelmed.

He also said, “There should be a parity among all universities in terms of curriculum, academic calendars, etc. so that students & parents can be assured of a uniform pedagogy & quality education. Universities should also start enrolling UG students in their campuses”.

He said, he don’t want Assam to be an educational hub just for the North East, but he wants Assam to become a centre for education for Eastern India and entire Bharat.

“For this, we need 50% of our universities to come in the top 100 rank,” he added,

Ahead of the NEP Conclave, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma at the event was seen welcoming Hon’ble Governor of Assam at AASC Khanapara.
