Shillong, Dec 19: In a sigh of relief for the people of Shillong, Power Minister Abu Teher Mondal has assured that there will be no power cut during the Christmas festive season.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Mondal said that this is a crucial time, especially for students preparing for various examinations and the government is committed to providing a stable power supply.
However, the Minister encouraged citizens to use electricity responsibly while celebrating, promoting mindful energy consumption.
He further reassured the public that all necessary measures have been taken to prevent any disruptions.
Any outages, he clarified, would only occur due to unforeseen issues, such as transformer failures. Mondal added that the government is well-prepared to handle any such situations and urged citizens not to worry about power availability during the festive season.
