Guwahati, Mar 29: The North East India Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NEIPDA) Greater Guwahati Unit has announced a complete shutdown of all retail outlets within its jurisdiction from 5.00 am on 30th March till 5.00 am on April 1st. The oil depots will go dry in the greater Guwahati area for 48 hours. The protest is against the non-enhancement and non-revision in the dealers’ commission since 2017.
In a press release the association stated that the strike is in response to the stagnant commission rates since 2017 and other grievances regarding the rights of the dealers. The the association claims that oil companies have not responded to their previous communications.
The association stated that the decision of closure is a unanimous resolution made during a General Meeting of the association held at their office in Uzan Bazar on Thursday.
The association has further invited questions and clarifications on Friday at their registered Guwahati office.
