Guwahati, May 4: The North East Indigenous Peoples Forum (NEIPF) is organising an essay writing competition to encourage the younger generation to learn more about the rich cultural heritage and diverse communities of Northeast India. The competition, open to participants aged 15 to 24, invites essays on the topic “The Role of Youth in Preserving and Promoting the Indigenous and Native Socio-Cultural Traditions Amidst the Modern World.”
Participants are required to submit their essays in English, with a word count between 1300 and 1500 words. Along with the essay, applicants must provide a photograph and a copy of their Aadhaar card or birth certificate for age verification. The last date for submission is May 20, 2024.
NEIPF has announced attractive cash prizes for the winners. The first prize is Rs. 40,000, followed by Rs. 30,000 for the second prize and Rs. 20,000 for the third prize. Additionally, 11 participants will receive a consolation prize of Rs. 5,000 each. All winners will be honoured with certificates and trophies during the prize distribution ceremony, which will be held on August 9, 2024, coinciding with World Indigenous Day.
