Shillong, July 21: The Shillong City circle of National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), the youth wing of National People’s Party (NPP), on Friday felicitated more than 40 students including toppers of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC or class 10) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC or Class 12) at the U SoSo Tham auditorium, Shillong.
The NPYF also felicitated Swapnil Bhattacharya, who recently cracked UPSC’s civil services and secured All India Rank (AIR) of 344.
The students and UPSC rank holder were presented with a certificates and mementos by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, the Chief Guest of the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “This event is not just a mere felicitation programme but it recognises the potential of the youth who will one day be the role models of the state.”
With an objective in helping the students to explore and develop their knowledge, a Question & Answer (Q&A) session was also held between the students and Swapnil Bhattacharya.
Along with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, MDC Bajoplang Pyngrope as well as others were present at the event.
