Jowai, Nov 12: In a tragic road accident, one person lost his life and two others were seriously injured when their scooty dashed against a Tata Sumo in West Jaintia Hills on Thursday evening.
According to reports, on Thursday at about 5.45 PM one scooty bearing no. ML 04D 2601 ridden by Ericson Lamare (17yrs) of Salaroh, Jowai along with two pillion rider, namely, Messiah Timung (16yrs) of Moosalyngkat, Jowai and Stevenson Suchiang (23yrs) of Dongmihsngi, Jowai, were proceeding from Nangbah towards Jowai but on reaching at Nangbah Junction dashed against one Tata Sumo Tourist bearing No. ML 11 1969 driven by Independence Nongtdu (41yrs) of Sutnga, which was proceeding from Jowai towards East Jaintia Hills.
As a result, all the three scooty riders received serious injuries, with Ericson Lamare succumbing to his injuries.
Messiah Timung was referred to Shillong whereas Stevenson Suchiang is admitted in Woodland Hospital Jowai for further medical treatment.
