Guwahati, Nov 18: A meeting convened by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh of NDA MLAs to discuss the prevailing stuation in the state was attended by 27 of the 47 MLAs.
Out of 38 MLAS belonging to NDA, only 27 attended and the absentees did not cite any reason.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said on X that justice will be ensured and firm action will be takeb against the killings in Jiribam. The meeting was held on November 18.
The legislators passed a resolution to “declare the Kuki Militants responsible for the killing of the six innocent women and children as an ‘unlawful organisation’ within 7 days.
The meeting resolved to request the Central Government to review the imposition of AFSPA as per the November 14v order with immediate effect.
It was also decided to start mass operations against the Kuki militants responsible for the killing of the 6 innocent women and children in Jiribam within 7 days, death of one woman who was burnt on November 7 in Jiribam and killing of one woman farmer in Saiton, Bishnupur district on November 9 to be immediately handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The meeting also resolved to declare the Kuki Militants responsible for the killing of the 6 (six) innocent women and children as an ‘unlawful organisation’ within 7 (seven) days.
The meeting resolved that if the above resolutions taken are not implemented within the specified period, all the NDA Legislators will decide the future course of action in consultation with the people of the State.
It also asked the Central and State Governments to take all necessary steps at the earliest to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.
