Agartala, Jan 18: In Tripura, Opposition parties have gone into agitation mode after back-to-back attacked allegedly by BJP supporters on top opposition leaders in the state on Sunday.
Today a 12 hours bandh has been called in the state by Congress in protests against the attack on state party President Pijush Biswas allegedly by BJP supporters.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemning the attacks demanded an inquiry into the incident and urged the Congress to call off the strike, the BJP has also claimed that the attack on state Congress Chief was a result of ‘internal fights’ of the congress.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, miscreant vandalized the residence of Rajya Sabha MP from Tripura and senior CPIM leader Jharna Das Baidya in state capital Agartala.
CPIM has alleged that on Sunday two wings of the party – the DYFI and SFI were jointly organisaing a at Badhargaht  badharghta area of state capital Agartala. The Member of Parliament was the the rally. The party has alleged that since a group of miscreants , whom the CPIM have alleged to be BJP workers, cam and attacked the rally and the rally had to be cancelled. Later 30-40 bikers then came to her hose and vandalized her house.
Top police officials have added that they have received separate police complaint of both the attacks on political leaders.
