Shillong, July 15: Chief Engineer of the Public Health Engineering (PHE), BM Lyndem, has informed that laying of gravity main of Phase 3 of Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (GSWSS Phase-III) is completed and the process of testing and commissioning of the newly laid gravity mainline is on-going.
Lyndem said during this period, it is anticipated that there may be variation in water quantity & quality such as temporary discoloration etc through the newly laid gravity mainline to Shillong city and its adjoining areas.
“This temporary inconvenience is essential for the commissioning of gravity main of Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (Phase-III) and every attempt shall be made to the extent possible to supply clean and reliable water to the public at the earliest. Inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” she said.
